Chemical Bases

Theories that argue that the bases of life able to reach Earth in meteorites have long been circling and conclusive evidence that the basic chemical components of DNA occur in space and arrive at the planet as passengers of the rocks that fall from the sky have been searched for years. In fact amino acids (which form proteins compounds) have been identified in meteorites, but, since half a century ago, these findings are always overshadowed by the question of land-based pollution. Now an American team brings new data clearing unknowns about the extraterrestrial origin of components needed to make living matter: on the one hand, to preclude contamination of the samples that have been analyzed; on the other hand, they have found a variety of compounds that fit the hypothesis of life that could come from space. They present their work in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (EE UU). Source of the news:: Chemical foundations of life that reach on meteorites
